Oil Tank Removal and Remediation Project Dublin

Catherine Kenny

Location

Dublin

Date

February 2024

Overview

External oil tank leaked. Created fumes externally. Old tank had to be removed and the remediation of the garden area was also required

Enviroleak  were so helpful throughout the process. They kept us in the loop at every stage.

Challenges

The only access to the garden, where the oil tank, was through the house for removal of contaminated soil and for the site team

The remediation of oil contaminated material was under the existing tank, so we needed to remove the tank, while maintaining home heating

The customer was concerned about new paving matching the existing paving

Solutions

The site team used floor protection throughout the house where access was required, but it was taken up every evening so as not to intrude on family life and keeping the house as clean as possible

We set up a temporary tank in an area not requiring remediation to maintain in-home heating during the project. The tank was then returned to its original position on project completion

The site team power-washed the entire yard on completion, so all the paving was clean and looked the same
